Ocean Waves.
Enjoy the sounds of the ocean. Waves are important to the circulation of energy through the ocean but can also have negative impacts on communities. According to the National Ocean Service, it is important to note that waves transfer energy and not water. There are two types of waves: wind- driven waves and surface waves but wind-driven waves are the most popular. Hazardous waves are caused by server weather from hurricanes that cause storm surge, and earthquakes and landslides that cause tsunamis. Some scientists believe that climate change is causing these bigger hurricanes with larger waves. Their research has found that the biggest and most damaging hurricanes are three times more frequent than they were 100 years ago. (BBC, 2019).
